President’s Message – November 22, 2024

Good evening members and retirees of USW Local 5328.

 The committee did meet with the company on Thursday. We dealt with a bunch of grievances and discussed the shutdowns for 2025. Hopefully first round of vacation picks will start in next couple weeks. The shutdowns are as follows:

 Summer / July Shutdown

For 12 hours  will start June 30th @ 7am and first scheduled shift back is July 14th @ 7am

Crews B/D will need 84 hours of vacation

Crews A/C will need 72 Hours of vacation

Anyone with 2 weeks or less vacation entitlement could be scheduled to work during the July shutdown.

 For 8 hours will start June 27th @ 11pm and first scheduled shift back is July 13th @ 11pm

All 8 hours will need 80 hours of vacation.

Anyone with 2 weeks or less vacation entitlement could be scheduled to work during the July shutdown.

 Winter / December Shutdown

For 12 hours  will start December 24th @ 7am and first scheduled shift back is January 2nd @ 7am

Crews B/D will need 36 hours of vacation

Crews A/C will need 36 Hours of vacation

 For 8 hours will start December 23th @ 11pm and first scheduled shift back is January 4th @ 11pm

All 8 hours will need 40 hours of vacation.
