The committee did meet with the company yesterday. They are still unsure what the future holds with the tariff threats but are working on a plan. 

The company spoke on the projects that have been completed and ongoing. The replacement of the Desumt Tank and High-Pressure Rinse went very well and is complete.  62 frame is finally running with just some minor things to complete. The TSSA on the furnace is on schedule. With the new procedures the updates on the JSA will be worked on next week. On January 20th the furnace will be commissioned and all the testing of all the upgrades will be tested before pushing of steel through it.  If all goes well the furnace should be fully running and pushing steel the week of January 27th.

Most of the meeting was a big discussion on the Health and Safety in the plant especially the Oil Temper. The company claims that most are not following the safety rules and procedures which at times are causing injuries. In the last few months, the injuries are just continuing which is disturbing. I cannot stress to you all how important it is to follow the rules, do not take any short cuts, if you feel its unsafe or you are told its unsafe do NOT do it. REFUSE to do it, that is your legal right. Go home the same way you came in to work. Remember there are cameras everywhere and the company will eventually catch you and they will discipline. Not only that you risk becoming seriously hurt or even killed you also risk losing money out of your pocket. A work refusal will not shut down our business, but unsafe work can.
