Good evening members and retirees of USW Local 5328.

 The company sent out a letter to all retirees and survivors to update information.  The letter stated that if the form was not filled out by Sept 2, pension payments will be held as of November. I have argued with the company about this and warned a grievance and an expedited arbitration, if this stays. I have also informed the USW legal department and  they are looking into it.  I did receive some info last night that they will not hold pension in September, That’s not what the letter states, so I know they are playing with words!  Typical of this management!!  I’m also told they will review the information in November? What ever that means? I will keep all updated. If you know of a pensioner, please pass on the information. 

 Pensioners, if you have any issues filling out the form or you wish to voice your concern about this, please contact me or anyone on the committee for assistance! 

 I still have not received official word about #2 oil temper line. I have had two meetings with different management and they continue to give different information, but nothing official!  As I was informed last week, 2 line will be decommissioned. 

 The company continues to hire at a snails pace. We are told they need to hire 30 more people but one this week and one next week. We did lose 4 supervisors over the last 5 weeks! Not sure the reason why they continue to quit? Unfortunately, Akhil Nair, our HR assistant has put in his resignation as well. Akhil was instrumental in resolving countless issues and is an encyclopedia of information. So sorry to see him leave.
