Members and Retirees of Local 5328

Good Evening all

The committee met the company last week to try and negotiate a retirement incentive to minimize the job losses. Unfortunately, we did not get to where we wanted.

The company decided to end talks and planned on going through with their “Transformation Project”. The ball is in their court and we wait patiently for them to return to negotiate a retirement incentive.

If this happens, I will send out communication right away.

 Good evening all.

The past week took us to places we did not think we would go!

We had an agenda set out by the company and at one point, we needed to deviate from that agenda  to accomplish what we set out for, a retirement incentive. We did not get there!!!

Grievances, job cancellations, job combinations, language changes, (that we did not entertain),  as we would not break the CBA.

Members and Retirees of Local 5328

Good evening all.

Today we had our first membership meeting since March. Thank you to those that came.

With COVID, we were not able to have meetings the last 5 months. One element of the membership meeting is to recognize retirements. In 2020 we have seen a few more than normal.

Congratulations and Thank you for your service brothers!

Members and Retirees of Local 5328

Good evening all.

Reminder that the local will resume our  membership meetings on Thursday September 10.

Unfortunately we face a few more layoffs for next week.

We have asked the company, again, to start cross training people in wiredraw to minimize the layoffs but as usual, not happening.

The forecast for September is low again with a bit of a down turn in the auto industry, is causing the further layoffs. Hopefully the sales team can drum up more business!!

Have a great and safe weekend!
