Hi all.

Some changes to the Covid-19 procedure and info.

Screening will now be done at the guard shack. We have had many people miss the screening at the front entrance. To ensure we continue to reduce the risk. There may be a back log as the weather may play a part and you may have to enter the guard shack to complete the screening process.

Good evening all.

I’m sure most have received information on the layoffs. There is a preliminary schedule but there will be some shift changes and I’ll send out tomorrow.

Good evening all.

Some updates on our meeting today.

The company has added temperature reading at the screening and sanitizing supplies should be arriving in the next day or two, I’m told. The annealing lunchroom has been opened to oil temper people for second lunchroom as to create social distancing.

As far as the effect this is having on the business for scheduling, we face some changes.

Good afternoon all.

We just met the company and received the information.

There will NOT be a complete plant shutdown , lay-off as of today.

We have had about 30% to 40% of our US customers cancel orders as I mentioned last night.

The Rod mill in Quebec is applying for an “Essential service” as being part of the supply chain to us.

With the announcement today by Premier Doug Ford with shutting down all nonessential services, the question is in everyone’s mind, will it affect us?

To be honest, I believe it will affect us but how, we won’t know until tomorrow

Here’s the next update as we are meeting the company daily to discuss the Covid-19 situation and  guidelines for social distancing.

We agreed to continue with process but build and better it with meeting daily as well as employee input. Most training will cease as to create social distancing.

The company will eventually add temperature reading to screening at all shift changes once a proper thermometer is purchased.

Some updates for you.

At 4:00 pm today the company called a meeting with myself, Mike Hnatjuk, Andrew Chetwynd and Greg Chaison. The meeting had all management as well as Charles Frechette and Luc Trempe on conference call.
